Whenever they need to recover deleted files Windows operating system users are at a great advantage compared to owners of Mac computers. The reason for this is that in order to recover lost or damaged files from a Mac there are several additional steps in between the user and their lost information. These are known as disk verification and disk initialization. Basically this means that the hard drive cataloging system used on a Mac computer must be checked and verified every time it is accessed and if any segment of that hard drive has failed, access to the entire drive is denied until the damaged logic area is repaired.
